About the Company

Founded in 1993, Village Care Ltd has been offering high-level domiciliary care services to service users in County Durham for more than three decades. Village Care Ltd is a fully accredited provider of care for Durham County Council and Durham Primary Care Trust. The company works alongside The Care Quality Commission (CQC), ensuring we provide the highest quality possible.

Since our formation, we’ve worked to build relationships with key parties. In the last three decades, we’ve worked with:

Meet the Owners

Lee Walker

Since founding the company over 30 years ago, Lee has gained vast experience in all aspects of the homecare sector and has used this experience to firmly establish Village Care Ltd as a leader in its field. He delivered care services to the company’s valuable service users during that time. Lee’s role now is to ‘manage the managers’, overseeing company and staff development and ensuring that Village Care Ltd has a solid and dependable future to look forward to.

Ali Walker

Ali joined Village Care Ltd in 2000. Since then, Ali has been a carer, supervisor, and manager, and she now owns and runs the company alongside her husband, Lee. Ali’s day-to-day role involves supporting the Registered Manager, senior coordinators, and supervisors. Ali is passionate about ensuring that all service users are as satisfied as possible with the services and care that they receive. Ali still enjoys delivering ‘hands-on’ care to service users on an occasional basis.

CQC

The Care Quality Commission regulates Village Care Ltd. This government body oversees healthcare settings, including hospitals, care homes, dental and GP surgeries, and more, and its focus is on the people in these settings. They provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and are encouraged to improve where needed.

The Care Quality Commission:

  • Set standards of quality and service that people can expect whenever they receive care.
  • Monitor, inspect and regulate care services to ensure they continue to meet the standards.
  • Protect the rights of vulnerable people, including those whose rights are restricted under the Mental Health Act.
